ISP Engineer position responsible for engineering, designing, architecting, costing, testing, evaluating, configuring, integrating and deploying client’s ISP Applications, such as, but not limited to, revenue generating E-mail, Anti-Abuse, Anti-Virus, DHCP, TFTP, DNS, Personal Web Page (Web Hosting) and other applications. Additional duties will include ISP Applications implementation; top tier technical support for ISP Applications and ISP Applications monitoring and capacity management. Interface regularly with Marketing and Network Operations groups to understand products & services requirements from a Marketing & Network Operations point of views. Other responsibilities include regular communications with the Regions and Districts and technical personnel of hardware and software vendors.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work in conjunction with HSI, Telephone & Business Marketing organizations in engineering, designing, architecting, costing, testing, evaluating, configuring, integrating and deploying possible technical solutions based on product and services requirements from Marketing.Assist Network Operations in ISP Applications trouble correlation, isolation & resolution when necessary, that is, providing top tier support for Network Operations. Define & develop documentation related to Engineering Standards, Deployment Guides, Test Plan and Reports, Request for Information/Proposal for ISP Applications hardware & software.Coordinate with ISP Applications vendors to ensure current and future hardware and software features and requirements are met.
Manage Capacity of every component of client’s ISP Applications infrastructure by tracking capacity usage and ordering equipment augments before it becomes necessary.Manage projects to completion within established budgetary requirements and deadlines.Perform other duties as requested by supervisor.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Demonstrated familiarity with standard E-mail protocols such as POP, IMAP, and SMTP
- Demonstrated understanding of Anti-Abuse & Anti-virus solutions from IronPort & others
- Demonstrated understanding of DHCP, TFTP, & DNS protocols
- Demonstrated understanding of standard web protocols such as HTTP, HTTPS, FTP
- Demonstrated knowledge of UNIX scripting; shell scripts, and Perl
- Demonstrated understanding of SQL, LDAP, and database protocols
- Knowledge of DOCSIS cable modem provisioning applications and protocols would be a plus
- Ability to work well with peers and other teams within the organization.
- Ability to analyze and interpret data.
- Ability to think logically and clearly.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks.
- Ability to understand how technology relates to business goals and objectives.
- Ability to prioritize and organize effectively.
- Ability to perform duties in a fast paced industry & ability to learn new technology
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear & concise manner.
- Ability to use personal computer and software applications (i.e. word processing, spreadsheet, etc.).
- Excellent communication skills.
- 1 - 2 years in highly technical positions, preferably within a Cable Co or a Telco.
- Technical Certifications would be an asset.
